How to Create an Alluring Arrival

When designing a home, the entry space makes a critical first impression. It welcomes you into the home and sets the stage for the rest of the interiors. How can we transform a space that is inviting yet utilitarian? What objects help us produce an enticing sense of arrival? Certain items that bring character to an area can assist the design by being useful as well as attractive. Let’s dive further into a space that exemplifies an enticing entrance.

What makes a desirable greeting? Typically, it is common to provide a mirror and/or console table when curating an entry. But what about small entries with limited space? In this instance, we tried to incorporate objects that fit our client’s personal taste. They have two boys and they wanted their home to feel welcoming and unique. As shown in our client’s beautiful yet challenging greeting space, we took an antique chair and placed their favorite jacket and boots to give the space interest and purpose. Our client loves unusual items so this precious chair paired with books and greenery brought warmth to the front doorway while adding an eccentric look. This fulfilled the objective of having a calming invitation into the home as well as a resting place for items the client actually utilizes such as umbrellas, shoes and jackets. With a little creativity this small space gained both beauty and function.
