Maximizing Small Spaces

In the age of urban living and minimalist trends, the challenge of making the most out of limited space has become a common woe. However, transforming small spaces into stylish, functional havens is possible and surprisingly enjoyable!

A cozy nook, a compact bathroom, or a tiny closet can feel spacious and inviting with innovative solutions and thoughtful design. Maximizing small areas with space-saving furniture, clever storage solutions, and layout ideas help elevate your living experience.

Some real-life examples we have created include this small galley kitchen. The client needed a breakfast room but lacked the square footage. We carved out a small section of space under the window to provide a decorative and cozy banquette with a Saarinen table. It was the perfect blend of function and beauty!

The closet image is derived from a little boys room we designed. Preston needed a place to read and ‘escape’. We painted the wardrobe a deep gray to match the bedroom and incorporated shelves with books and toys. Next, we added the customized chair to allow a quaint reading spot for him to enjoy.

Finally, a spot that is near and dear to our hearts is the playhouse pictured below. The previous owner of this home had left a strange open storage area in an upstairs hallway. After several ideas, we decided to capitalize on the angular shape and design a custom cottage facade complete with vintage door knob, lighting, and mailbox. Behind the mini pink Dutch-door is a storage closet that could easily become any child’s dream!
